The mission of the Swansea Emergency Management Agency (formerly the Office of Civil Defense) is
- to help coordinate federal, state, local, voluntary and private resources during emergencies and disasters in our community
- to develop plans for effective response to all hazards, disasters and threats
- to assist in training and preparedness excercises of emergency personnel
- to act as a liaison to the public
- to assist individuals, families, businesses and communities to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies
